Krissy Clark, "Ignite: Narrative Landscapes"

While watching this clip where Krissy Clark presents her idea and concept of using augmented reality to tell the stories of places, I thought, how many people had the idea of augmented reality before startups like layars actually implemented it?
How many people thought, when shooting a photo with their mobile phone, 'gosh, why not using this piece of tech to scan the place and make those links clickable'?
How many thought about sharing photos instantly and using the context information, when taking pictures with the first digital cameras?
How many thought about something like this when using their Kodak Polaroid back in the analog ages?
How many people thought, 'I would give a lot to know how this place looked years ago, there must be hundreds of pictures somewhere'...when they were photographing a couple on a street in San Francisco in the 1885?

What if we could bring people together, who share this type of idea and enable them to do something as a group? Why would they share the idea? What would it take to share ideas without fear of someone stealing your idea and run with it, maybe even fighting your claim, that it was yours before his?

How many years earlier could we have had something like "augmented reality"?
