The queue is 3 people long. The customers at the check-in desks have about 6 huge bags and have to get a Sony Vaio out, start Windoze and open the email application to finally find and show their booking reservation. Because of overweight per bag, they have to reorganize their luggage and take out some heavy paper brochures, wrap them in an extra bag...
It all takes 10 minutes for them to check-in - at the drop-off line, supposed to handle the fast already checked-in customers.
The clerk from the neighbouring check-in desk is watching the whole scene, but continues to handle normaql customers until her collegue asks her to take over, just for one customer, mind you, and then constinues again her normal process until again asked by her collegue.
Two questions, why does a couple think, they should check-in at the drop-off counter, when obviously they are not on a normal flight, not having prepared their booking details and handling luggage which potentially could contain a whole household removal?
And why isn't the clerk from the neighbouring desk not concerned about the overall check-in process, although the drop-off queue grew longer than the normal check-in line?

It is nothing to do with windoze per se, more to do with dozy whiners! You might argue the two are inextricably linked, but I think that there are just as many (proportionally) linux (et al)-dozers as there are on win platform. It is of course much more fun hitting at the big parget.
ReplyDeleteAnd that from the guy who had to wait in order to check-in ;) But on a more serious note, people using Macs or Linux machines would have printed it out or would have synced the booking details onto their Palm or Smartphone, n'est-ce pas? :)
