Why switch to blogger?

Wordpress.com has been great for my first blogs. Free and no ads. In order to ptotect it'sbusiness model Automaticc stiffled the com offer a bit. I could have nuilt my own wordpress server, but that's exactly waht I didn't want to do anymore - running my own servers.
2 years ago I re-discovered blogger. Google had boosted blogger to a full blown blogplatform with all bells and whistles, but to my surprise, blogger had become a totally configurable web service platform: you can turn blogger into a CMS, you can stuff your blogger site with widgets, javascript, flash, whatever. You can setup advertising or not.

It's basically all configurable in the XML file which contains CSS and HTML including the blogger script code, which usually starts with a "b colon".

Though blogger is not yet integrated fully with Google Apps, combinations like publishing docs and spreadsheet are easily done. You can use Google Apps ( or Google Docs) to handle posting and editing of your website like a CMS.

I have built a number of sites on blogger, so it's time to move my blogs to blogger as well...
